Countersinking Sheet Metal Products
A countersink is a conical hole cut into a manufactured object. A common use is to allow the head of a countersunk bolt, screw or rivet, when placed in the hole, to sit flush with or below the surface of the surrounding material.
Counterboring Sheet Metal Product
A counterbore is a cylindrical flat-bottomed hole that enlarges another coaxial hole. A counterbore is typically used when a fastener, such as a socket head cap screw, is required to sit flush with or below the level of a workpiece’s surface.
Drilled & Tapped Holes in Sheet Metal
Drilling and Tapping are two distinct processes. Drilling refers to creating a smooth hole in a material with a drill and tapping if the process that created a thread into the side of the hole. C&S Fabrications offer bespoke drilling and tapping services in sheet metal products.
